Diabetes Dictionary: A1c
This blood test - also called hemoglobin
(HEE-mo-glow-bin)
A1c or glycosylated
(gly-KOH-sih-lay-ted) hemoglobin - gives you a
picture of your average blood-sugar level for the past three months. This result
gives you a good idea of how your treatment plan is working. Your A1c should be
less than 6.5, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. This page last updated 2/12/08 04:08 PM
